Dr. Allison Bidlack serves as SNAP Director and is also on the leadership team for the Alaska Climate Adaptation Science Center.  She has a broad background in ecology and resource management, with a focus on the linked terrestrial and marine ecosystems of the northeast Pacific coastal temperate rain forest. She has worked on a range of projects in the region, including mammalian biogeography in the Alexander Archipelago, salmon habitat use in the Copper River watershed, hydrologically mediated materials flux across the southeast Alaska coastal margin, ocean acidification, forest ecology and management, and most recently, integration of climate projections into renewable energy planning. Integral to much of this work is investigating the impact of climate change on ecosystem processes and services.

Allison received a BS (1992) in Resource Ecology and Management from the University of Michigan, a MS (2000) in Biology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and a PhD (2007) in Environmental Science, Policy and Management from the University of California, Berkeley. She served as the Director of the Alaska Coastal Rainforest Center at the University of Alaska Southeast for eight years and has been Research Faculty with the International Arctic Research Center since 2022.
